Anthropic has made tool use generally available across the Claude 3 model family via their Messages API, Amazon Bedrock, and Google Cloud's Vertex AI. This advancement allows Claude to interact with external tools and APIs, enhancing its ability to perform tasks, manipulate data, and deliver more dynamic and precise responses.
Developers can now define a toolset and specify tasks in natural language. Claude can extract data from unstructured text, convert natural language into structured API calls, answer queries via database searches or web APIs, automate tasks, and manage subagent orchestration for complex workflows.
