Hitachi Ltd. and Microsoft Corp. have entered a transformative three-year, multibillion-dollar partnership aimed at advancing business and societal innovation through generative AI. This collaboration will enhance Hitachi's Lumada solutions by integrating Microsoft’s cloud technologies, including Azure OpenAI Service, Dynamics 365, and GitHub Copilot, to streamline operations and boost productivity for Hitachi's extensive workforce of 270,000 employees.
This strategic alliance will focus on delivering advanced AI-driven solutions across various industries such as energy and mobility. Hitachi's ambitious goal includes training over 50,000 "GenAI Professionals" to master AI technologies, leveraging Microsoft's comprehensive AI training resources. This initiative aims to foster a new wave of AI talent capable of driving future innovations.
Joint projects will address critical challenges, including enhancing cloud services, bolstering security measures, and reducing the environmental impact of data centers. By combining their expertise, Hitachi and Microsoft aim to offer innovative solutions that not only improve operational efficiency but also contribute to sustainability efforts.
