OpenAI Forms Safety and Security Committee
OpenAI Forms Safety and Security Committee
The OpenAI Board has established a new Safety and Security Committee, chaired by Bret Taylor and including directors Adam D’Angelo, Nicole Seligman, and CEO Sam Altman. This committee is tasked with recommending critical safety and security measures for OpenAI’s projects.
As OpenAI embarks on developing its next frontier model, the committee’s primary focus will be on evaluating and enhancing the organization's safety processes over the next 90 days. Their recommendations will be reviewed by the full Board, and OpenAI will publicly update on the adopted measures.
Key technical and policy experts from OpenAI, such as Aleksander Madry, Lilian Weng, John Schulman, Matt Knight, and Jakub Pachocki, will support this committee. Additionally, the committee will seek advice from external experts, including former cybersecurity officials like Rob Joyce and John Carlin, to bolster their efforts in ensuring comprehensive safety and security protocols.
